Zodiak Quartz

Zodiaq® Quartz was one of the first quartz surfaces on the market, in 2000. Engineered with pure quartz crystals, quartz countertops from DuPont Zodiaq® let you bring the best of both worlds - nature and science — to your kitchen, bath and throughout your home.

Made with extremely hard quartz crystals, Zodiaq® keeps its good looks and survives the impact of nicks and cuts that can occur with daily wear and tear, minimizing short and long-term maintenance. Quartz is found in great abundance in the earth - it is naturally hard and scratch-resistant. Quartz even ranks a 7.0 on Moh's Hardness Scale, which is used to measure the scratch-resistance of a material. Only diamonds, ranking 10, topaz, and sapphire are harder than quartz.

Unlike other materials, you never have to seal, polish or recondition the surface to maintain its luster. It can be easily cleaned with soap and water and doesn't require sealants or waxes.

In addition, Zodiaq® contributes to sustainable design. Zodiaq® and its adhesives and sealants meet or exceed emissions guidelines for volatile organic compounds, are low-emitting and are nontoxic and nonallergenic for humans. So you can feel more comfortable knowing that your family and friends are in good hands!

Zodiaq® quartz slabs are manufactured using Breton vibrocompaction casting process.

The quality of the final product highly depends on the quality of the raw stone being used in the process. Zodiaq® only uses the purest grades of material to ensure highest quality standard.

Care and Maintenance

Zodiaq® quartz was created for a lifetime of easy care. Just follow our simple guidelines to help you keep your Zodiaq® surfaces looking beautiful.

Learning how to care for your Zodiaq® quartz takes no time at all—thanks to the stain-resistance of this remarkable material. Zodiaq® quartz is a tough, nonporous, chemically-resistant, high-performance surface that elevates your design with the natural beauty of quartz.

Everyday cleaning — Just Use Water and a Paper Towel

With simple care, Zodiaq® quartz will retain its radiant, lustrous appearance for many years. For routine cleaning, simply wipe down your countertop with a damp cloth or paper towel and, if necessary, a small amount of non-bleach, non-abrasive cleanser.

Clean Up Spills Right Away — Before They Can Dry

Even though Zodiaq® surfaces resists permanent staining when exposed to liquids (such as wine, vinegar, tea, lemon juice and soda) or fruits and vegetables, you’ll want to wipe up food and liquid spills as soon as possible.

For stubborn or dried spills, use a nonabrasive cleaning pad such as a white 3M Scotch-Brite®* scrub pad coupled with Formula 409®
Glass & Surface Cleaner
or a comparable cleaning product.

Essential Gear

Cutting Boards and Trivets - Zodiaq® quartz surfaces are heat- and scratch-resistant, but not heat- and scratch-proof. Use trivets or pads with hot pots and always use a cutting board. Never chop or slice food directly on
your countertops.

What Not to Use

If any of the substances mentioned below come into contact with your Zodiaq® quartz, rinse the exposed surface immediately and thoroughly with water.

No Wax or Polish Necessary Because it is nonporous, Zodiaq® quartz does not require sealants or waxes. Zodiaq® keeps its lustrous gloss and ultra-smooth surface without polishing or applying sealant.

Do Not Use Bleach - Avoid using cleaners that contain bleach. Always follow the cleaner manufacturer’s use instructions and exercise proper care when handling and storing any cleaning products.

Avoid High-pH Cleaners - Casual exposure to alkaline solutions, such as diluted bleach, will not damage Zodiaq® quartz. Highly alkaline (high pH) cleaners, such as oven cleaners and concentrated bleach, are not recommended.

Removing Cooking Grease - When grease from cooking is an issue, use Greased Lightning
*, or a comparable degreasing product, to help loosen and remove the grease from the surface. Follow the cleaner manufacturer’s instructions for use.

Permanent Markers - Keep permanent markers and inks away from your countertops. Should these materials come into contact with the surface, clean first as outlined above in the Everyday Cleaning section. If the stain persists, moisten a cloth with Goo Gone®
